Ourkids-Uganda has many Volunteer opportunities. Groups, Individual Families, couples or singles who are interested in volunteering their time working with families, orphans and those afflicted and affected by different atrocities especially the HIV/AIDS epidemic that has left thousands and thousands of people without hope are welcome on board. Missions. This has been a worthwhile cause for Ourkids-Uganda, taking center stage in promoting subsequent programs. This is in accordance to the greatest commission that our Lord and savior left for us... Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations; baptize them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit… (Matthew 28:19). Our 'going' and taking the gospel to the rural and the un reached communities is an act of obedience to the Lord's command. Every month, Ourkids-Uganda takes the gospel to at least one community, putting emphasis on the village setting. We discovered that many great preachers of the word would prefer taking the gospel to big auditoriums, theaters, and stadiums and not giving a thought to those in peripheral dwellings. Our discovery reveals that there are thousands of people in such remote areas that have never heard about Jesus and have therefore been overtaken by myths, and cultural beliefs, this has then suffocated anything related to God thus living independently yet ignorantly of the stupendous blessings of the Lord. There have been numerous challenges, ups and downs but Ourkids-Uganda have not looked at the downs, in fact these have been taken as stepping stones to set us into victory. Our local missions have been greatly rewarding both to the different church ministries that have taken on participatory roles of taking the gospel with us, their testimonies have further ignited a thirst and a hunger to broaden our scope, coverage and dynamism in the gospel spheres. The most pressing yet urgent need in missions is transport, we have no transport means to carry missionaries from dispatch points to mission grounds and lack of support for food and maintenance of our audio which we use for open air campaigns.

Church ministry

The Church has provided a skeleton and an index of staff and also ministers to the Ourkids-Uganda Board. Located at the heart of the community, the church has been a center of prayer and continues to be a fountain of worship and has greatly impacted communities of Mafubira, Bugembe, Namulesa, Ssakabusolo, Kimaka, Mpumudde and beyond. Our Church services begin from 9:00 am up to 12:30 noon for the first session and from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm for the evening sessions. The nearly 500-seater hall has become smaller and smaller over time with the steady influx of believers from evangelism efforts in the Diaspora thus presenting a need to relocate to a bigger venue. Bible study groups Bible classes were started with facilitation of five groups with Luganda and Lusoga Bibles. Bible classes have since increased to over 6 groups with their greatest need being more Bibles to help them learn the word. Communities are striving to live in an unbalanced economy thus they are unable to afford Bibles. You can donate a Bible or more for these groups and also you can choose to come down and take on a group with Biblical teaching that could help them grow in Christ, please contact the pastor on the above contact for more information.

Construction workers, painters, administrators, managers, evangelist - your time and skills will be put to great use! Some specific areas of need are listed below but Ourkids-Uganda is open to whatever your interest as you desire to support the children of Uganda. Kingdom Nursery and primary School

As with any school, volunteer opportunities abound. Those interested in tutoring or just enjoying and playing with the children would be welcome. Qualified teachers are particularly needed to work with local teachers. Basic school supplies are always needed and are appreciated. Needs include books, pens, pencils, paper, shoes, school uniform among many. Producing an enterprising and instrumental generation of tomorrow goes hand in hand with a sufficient input of expertise, Human resource and good management skills. These put together forms an index for great performances and hence a bright generation. Ourkids-Uganda have succumbed to lack of the above three and have therefore put across these vital issues to everyone with a particular or more abilities/skills as we help brighten the future of our children not leaving improving their quality of life.

Children's Homes

Ourkids-Uganda has a number of foster homes with over 200 children, there is need for daily basic needs and psychosocial support in these homes. Your presence will mean a lot to these families. Children can be playful so toys are things you ought not to forget to carry on your trip to visit our children. Other pressing needs at the home include: Food resources, medical care, mattresses, bed sheets/covers and other domestic utilities. You will be amazed by the glamorous experience with the children and staff. Please contact us for any trip arrangements and we will get back to you in good time. Challenges Infrastructure Ourkids-Uganda is renting the office premises. We have land donated to the ministry and what remains is sourcing for funding to help put up infrastructure to house Ourkids-Uganda offices, children's center and counseling programs.

Transport

Our monthly evangelism efforts and community outreaches have been hampered by a lack of transport for the staff and missionaries to respective operation centers, a van with good carriage would be recommended to help carry the audio equipment and one big enough to carry at least 30 people at a time would be much desired. Missions have been core in bringing many to the kingdom of God yet has been poorly facilitated in a lot many ways that its effectiveness has been affected.

Funding

Various projects and activities have a great need for funding especially the construction of a children's haven, child sponsorship programme, widow's Income generating activities and missions respectively for without which service is delayed, non effective or completely cut out, a monthly support for the children's food and medication is greatly needed, You can help return the smile on the faces of starving children when you give towards this cause.
