Children’s homes

OURKIDS-Uganda places great value on placing children with foster families providing mother and or father to care for them responsibly. However, some of the homes get overwhelmed with such a great number of children and this forced us to institutionalize some of our kids. The children are fully part of their community, attending kingdom school and other near by Schools.

Foster Care

Orphans in extended families are supported by OURKIDS-Uganda with basic requirements including food, education, medical care, school uniforms and other scholastic materials for without which such children are sidelined regards human resources and other basic needs that they would need in life.

OURKIDS-Uganda organization has registered a big number of families headed by widows, Orphans and or single mothers who have been affected by HIV/AIDS as the current beneficiaries of our efforts to ensure improved household income and food security. The families receive material support such as Food staffs, Clothes, beddings, animals (cows, goats and pigs) and seeds to assist their economic ability to sustain the orphans under their care as OURKIDS-Uganda supports them.

Recovery Club

Most of our children at OURKIDS home have originated from different walks of life inclusive of those abandoned at garbage heaps, those who have witnessed the demise of their parents in very devastating ways, those who were at extremes below poverty line etc…

Our Recovery club is a monthly effort by our Child welfare officer to identify trusted social workers who have taken on the role of addressing the psycho-social problems of our children related to their past and giving them a hope to live a quality life. The club is also an interactive forum for different children around the diaspora coming together under one roof for such auspicious programs.

Letting go of the past is hard road to tread, however, the Recovery club has proven to be an effective tool in combating emotional stress and related issues that can cause lasting yet detrimental effects in the life of a child if left to go unchecked.
